Mirroring/400 has two modes of replication: scheduled and real time.
Scheduled objects replication
The product replicates in scheduled mode all those objects and their security that can be included in a SAVOBJ command.
Different replication tasks can be scheduled to be executed the days indicated at the time specified.
Replicates also user profiles and authorization lists so that we can maintain a security scheme
identical to the primary computer. Mirroring/400 could replicate spool files, IFS files, system values
and network attributes.
Through replication of objects you can, for example, keep the program library in a
contingency computer in order to have available the latest versions
of them if it is necessary.
Data replication in real time
Updates to database files, data queues and data areas caused by the usual
operation of different applications, and file operations, such as:
reorganization, renames, etc, are replicated in real time on one or more
secondary computers as
what happened on the primary computer in the same sequence in which they occurred.
Data replication is based on remote journalization,
resulting in better performance and
absolute reliability and data security.
The news entered the journals, following the updates on
files, data areas and data queues made by
applications, are replicated on the remote machines specified and you
can define various replication schemes: unidirectional, bidirectional
or multidirectional.
The files, data areas and data queues may be associated with various journals, allowing related sets as needed.
